Visual/Source/Field Examination

Providing qualified and experienced personnel in the field is one of our specialties. Our large pool of qualified inspectors is available for projects at your facilities. Our inspection staff have National Board Commissions, Canadian General Standards Board, and American Society for Non-destructive Testing certifications. Our inspection experience includes: welding, piping, pressure vessels, process plants, refineries and fossil power plants, co-generation plants, and commercial and industrial facilities.

ASME Code Inspection

HSB BI&I is an Authorized Inspection Agency (AIA) accredited by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). We are uniquely positioned to offer the following ASME and Consulting services regarding Code and Standard matters:

• Shop inspections for Code fabrication
• Design review of boiler and pressure vessels for Code compliance
• Weld procedure specification review to ASME requirements
• Quality control manual review for Code shop certification
• Foreign Code compliance for boiler and pressure vessels manufactured in Canada for export
• Authorization/overseeing of repairs and alterations to boiler and pressure vessels to Code and provincial/state standards

Third-Party Inspection

Our third-party quality assurance inspection services will ensure that the manufacture and installation of equipment by outside suppliers meet your specifications. The productivity of your operation depends on equipment reliability. We will help you achieve that reliability through our quality assurance program.

Our services include:

• Review of design drawings for applicable Code and specification compliance
• Evaluation or qualification of prospective suppliers' technical resources, production capabilities, and quality assurance procedures
• Development of inspection plans for the customer
• Performance of in-shop inspections during fabrication
• Performance of on-site inspections during construction to assure equipment setup meets design specifications
